Talkpad (“the App”) is a voice typing application operated by Illumentis. When you speak, your audio is sent securely for transcription and returned as text. Audio is not stored after processing. We do not build user profiles from transcription content or sell your data.
Talkpad collects minimal data to operate the service:
Talkpad does not retain or use for analytics:
Your audio is sent over an encrypted connection (TLS) to our transcription API, which forwards it to third-party speech recognition providers (ElevenLabs as the primary engine, with Azure as a fallback) for processing. A separate large-language-model provider (Groq) is used only to polish and translate the transcribed text. The audio is not stored, logged, or used for model training by Talkpad. Talkpad records only while you hold your hotkey or intentionally use lock mode; it does not run as an always-listening screen-context layer. Transcription typically completes within seconds.
Talkpad uses Google and GitHub Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in, we receive your name and email address from the provider. We do not receive your provider password.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe on the web and desktop, Apple on iOS, and Google Play on Android. We receive verified subscription status, product and expiry details so Pro access works across signed-in devices, but no full payment card details. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy and the applicable Apple or Google privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
We use Google Tag Manager for basic website analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website (talkpad.ai). This may involve cookies and similar technologies on the website. The desktop and mobile applications do not include analytics trackers.
Talkpad does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Talkpad relies on the following third-party services:
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We select providers that maintain strong data protection standards.
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Usage counts reset weekly. If you cancel your subscription, your account data is retained in case you resubscribe, but you can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
When an account is deleted, we remove its profile, authentication record, billing links, and identifiable usage history. To prevent repeated account deletion from resetting free trials or weekly limits, we retain a keyed pseudonymous identifier, the original trial start, and recent aggregate word-count totals solely for fraud and abuse prevention. This record contains no email address, provider account ID, audio, transcript, name, or profile data and is not used for advertising or marketing.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
