How it works

Three steps. That's it.

1
Step 1

Hold the hotkey

Press and hold your chosen shortcut: Fn, Option, or Ctrl+Shift. Talkpad starts listening the moment you press.

2
Step 2

Speak naturally

Talk at a normal pace. Talkpad handles punctuation and capitalization for you. Say what you mean, not what you'd write.

3
Step 3

Text appears instantly

Release the hotkey and your text lands wherever your cursor is. No copy-paste, no extra steps.

Use cases

Workflows people recognize.

Talkpad is built for the places you already type all day.

1

AI prompts

Talk through ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and coding agents without slowing your thinking down.

2

Email & messaging

Draft emails and replies in seconds. Say it once, send it. No more staring at a blank compose window.

3

Slack and Teams updates

Send project updates, standups, and quick replies while the thought is fresh.

4

Cursor and VS Code comments

Dictate code review notes, commit messages, bug reports, and implementation plans in plain language.

5

Meeting notes

Turn rough spoken notes into readable follow-ups after calls and customer conversations.

6

Multilingual replies

Speak naturally and translate as you dictate for international emails and chats.

7

Sales and support

Answer prospects and customers faster without sounding rushed or robotic.

8

Documents and briefs

Draft specs, memos, classroom notes, and long-form thoughts without typing fatigue.

Privacy clarity

What Talkpad never does

Talkpad is push-to-talk by design. It does not run as an always-on recorder, read your screen, scrape your clipboard, keep a transcript database, or analyze your content for ads.

You control when recording starts and stops.
Audio is sent only for transcription and correction.
Talkpad types into the active field without needing screen context.

Time saved

A small daily speed win compounds quickly.

If voice typing saves 10 minutes a workday, that is about 43 hours a year. Talkpad keeps the promise simple: speak naturally, edit less, and get back to the work faster.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Talkpad work in every app?

Yes. Talkpad types into the active text field, so it works across Gmail, Slack, Notion, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, code editors, docs, and most places you can type.

Is Talkpad always listening?

No. Talkpad records only while you hold your hotkey. Audio is sent securely for transcription while recording, then the cleaned-up text is inserted where your cursor is.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS is available now as a direct download. Windows is in waitlist access while the signed installer is finalized. iPhone and Android are planned.

How much can I use for free?

The free plan includes 2,500 words per week on supported desktop devices. Pro is for heavier daily use with unlimited words.

Can I translate while dictating?

Yes. Turn on translation, speak naturally, and Talkpad types the translated text at your cursor across supported languages.

Does Talkpad work with AirPods and Bluetooth headsets?

Yes. Talkpad uses whatever microphone your Mac is set to, so AirPods, AirPods Pro, and most Bluetooth headsets work out of the box.

Is my voice data stored?

Audio is processed securely for transcription and is not stored after processing. Read the Privacy Policy for full details.
