Our Commitment: Zero Data Collection

Talkpad is built on a simple principle: your voice never leaves your device. All transcription happens locally using on-device AI (whisper.cpp). We do not have servers that receive, store, or process your audio or text.

1. What We Do Not Collect

Talkpad does not collect, transmit, or store:

  • Voice recordings or audio data
  • Transcribed text or typed content
  • Keyboard usage patterns or keystrokes
  • Personal identifiers (name, email, device ID)
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or crash reports

2. What Stays on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us:

  • App settings – your hotkey preferences, selected language, chosen AI model
  • Downloaded AI models – the whisper.cpp model files used for transcription

You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling Talkpad.

3. App Store Purchases

Talkpad is distributed through Apple App Store, Google Play, and Mac App Store. Purchases are processed entirely by those platforms. We receive no payment details or personal information from these transactions beyond what the platform chooses to share (e.g., country of purchase for tax purposes).

4. Internet Access

Talkpad requests internet access only to download AI model files when you first set up the App. This download is a one-time operation and no audio or usage data is transmitted. Once models are downloaded, the App works fully offline.

5. Children's Privacy

Talkpad does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. As we collect no personal data from any user, the App is safe for use by people of all ages.

6. Third-Party Services

Talkpad does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

7. Changes to This Policy

If our privacy practices ever change (for example, if we add optional cloud features), we will update this policy and notify users through the App. We will never collect data without your explicit consent.
